Finally Friday This N That

Yay, it’s finally Friday.

Let me be more specific. It’s finally THIS Friday.

I really hate those 12-day work weeks. So, THIS Friday actually means two days of “non-work” (I won’t go as far as saying “rest & relaxation) coming up. And considering that Mother Nature’s been very… agreeable this winter & spring (wonders never cease, I know) It seems that I will actually have to get out & mow lawn – even before April gets here. Wow.

On the TV front, the basketball tournaments have killed any flow for regular shows. They’re new one week, repeats the next. It sucks – especially since it’s getting down to season finale time.

Speaking of finales, this week had part 1 of the 2-part ending for season 2 of Body of Proof. It kind of sucked that there was a lot of acting in hazmat suits. The promo for next week’s finale seems pretty good, as we continue the story following Kate’s collapse at the podium. As much as I like Dana Delany, it seems that Jeri Ryan’s Kate has become the star of the show for me. Her character reminds me a lot of Catherine Willows.

Speaking of both Catherine Willows and Dana Delany, I’ve been re-watching China Beach episodes this week. Each time I watch, I seem to adore Marg as K.C. even more (if that’s possible). Now, if only we could get Marg to guest on some current show. I’m really going into Marg withdrawl.

Marg’s former CSI co-star, Liz Vassey, tweeted yesterday that she’ll be back on Necessary Roughness again soon as Gabrielle. I’ve only watched a few episodes of that show, including her two previous appearances. I loved her character.

Another CSI alum, Louise Lombard (Sofia) tweeted that today was her final day filming the FOX pilot titled, Rogue, with Julian McMahon. Hopefully the pilot gets picked up. It'll be great to see her on tv again. I wish she'd have come back on CSI, at least for the season finale since it seems that dipshit McKeen (the guy who killed Warrick) will be back.

Laura Innes returned as Captain Tricia Harper on Awake last night. It seems she had a little bit more screen time last night than in her initial appearance. I hope she comes back soon. I love seeing her as the HBIC. Her character very much reminds me of Bonnie Bedelia’s Captain Kate McCafferty on The Division.

On the subject of guest appearances – Stargate alums Christopher Judge & Jay Acovone were both on last night’s episode of The Mentalist as a chief of security at a casino & casino boss. Hearing Chris’ deep voice on tv again was great, but it was even more pleasing to see him in a nice, crisp suit. Oh, and his shiny head again as well.

Speaking of shiny…
The promo poster for the revamped version of Dallas seems a bit squeaky clean.

Are they really going to get us interested in a revamping of the old show by reminding us of the infamous “it’s all just a dream” fiasco of a storyline from the original? Seriously? At least they put Larry Hagman & Patrick Duffy in the back. And it’s nice to have Larry with his hat on as well. Just one big question – how much photoshopping was actually done for that poster?

I got the new issue of Entertainment Weekly in today’s mailbox, and was pleased to see that much of the cast of Downton Abbey has a number of other projects coming out soon as well.

Mid-Week This n That

The end of February is nearing. Is there any way we can just skip ahead to the end of March now and avoid March Madness? It definitely gets to be ‘madness’ at work for at least the first couple weeks of March. Talk about sports overload.

Last weekend, I finished watching the first two seasons of Downton Abbey. Strangely enough, I spent 9 hours sitting on my bed watching it…with my MOTHER. I swear that had to be the weirdest day of my life. Anyway, by the end of season 2, I think I finally had learned all of the characters’ names. I mean, seriously, that show has so darn many characters – and it keeps going so fast - that it’s hard to remember who’s who. I just want to give Anna a real big hug. I don't know how they're going to get Bates out of his predicament. And I was clapping for Matthew & Mary at the end.

Last night brought another lovely episode of NCIS, and last night’s appearance by Jamie Lee Curtis just strengthened my belief that this show ALWAYS gets the best guest stars. Unlike some shows, that shall remain nameless (CSI), this show has always found a way to use those characters to their fullest, and usually doesn’t waste the performances of great guest actors. It’s good to see that JLC’s character, Dr Ryan, wasn’t the baddie and she will be back later (as confirmed by Pauley P). The only recurring character that semi-annoys me is Kate’s sister, as they had her on again last night.

I also caught most of last night’s Body of Proof. I had to chuckle at the very cliché “body found in the wall” scenario. That must be a prerequisite for each & every crime show that there has to be a “corpse in the wall” episode. As always, I enjoyed the lovely (but short) Kate/Megan moments. I loved Megan’s reaction when Kate said she was demoted – a “let me go give them a piece of my mind” declaration. I also have to mention the great song they played at the end of the episode – Diane Birch’s “rewind”. One thing this show is really good at is having some great music.

I also watched NCIS:LA last night, as I heard it was going to be centered on Kensi. The only bad part is that she was a suspect and really didn’t get to do much other than look concerned. Hopefully the continuation next week will have her kicking some butt, as long as they don’t have her stuck in a hospital bed now that she took a bullet to end the ep. WHY do they do that to me? UGH.

Looking ahead to the rest of this week:

Jeff Kober is on tonight’s episode of CSI. Too bad they couldn’t get him on before Marg left. They never worked together the first time he was on the show, either. I might just get the urge to go back & rewatch China Beach episodes, and maybe even the not-so-great “Gold Coast”. Oh, that reminds me – I still haven’t watched his appearance in New Girl last week. I caught the promo for tonight’s CSI episode last night. At least Jorja’s in it, so there’ll be at least some reason to watch. I’m still not sure about Elisabeth Shue’s character – especially if they continue with the too-sugary, flirty, annoying, cliché banter with Finn & Dieberkorn. Otherwise, I liked her presence & strength of character. I enjoyed her scenes with Greg.

Speaking of CSI – Louise Lombard will be on tomorrow’s episode of The Mentalist. It’ll be great to see her again. I wonder if she’ll have her regular accent. And a toothpick would be nice too. I can’t remember if she has the dark hair or the blonde hair for this one. The always-evil, but ever-wonderful Malcolm McDowell is in this one as well.

Also tomorrow night on Fox, Peta Wilson will be on The Finder. I’ve never seen the show. I hope she has a decent part. It’ll probably give me the urge to go back & watch all five seasons of La Femme Nikita again. I really miss that Nikita. I’ve pretty much stopped watching the new incarnation of Nikita – even though Melinda Clarke’s Amanda is in charge. The whole show just turned into something totally different than what it started as. Sometimes that can be a good thing (like Sanctuary, for instance), but for this show, it just made me lost interest.

If you’re keeping track of upcoming dvd releases, here are a few:
April 17th: Eight is Enough S1
May 15th: Hell on Wheels S1
May 22nd: Rizzoli & Isles S2

I was looking through TV Guide’s listings of upcoming pilots for the Fall 2012 tv season. I noticed Aubrey Dollar was set to co-star in an untitled Hilary Winston project for NBC. It would be great if she can get on a regular show again. She was great in her recent appearance on Blue Bloods, even though I thought the episode itself was just so-so.

Another familiar name that popped up as I was browsing through the lists was Sanctuary’s Agam Darshi. She’s to be in a pilot (“County”) about an LA hospital.

Speaking of Sanctuary – are they EVER going to let us know about season 5? If it’s a “yes”, I’ll be jumping for joy. If it’s a “no”, then I’ll be sulky & moody, but for goodness sake, just LET US KNOW THE DECISION SOON.

Thursday This N That

It’s time for another round of This n That – ramblings from a quirky, pessimistic, unstable mind.

That reminds me – I saw an article that said disrupted sleep can lead to Alzheimer’s disease. Oy. I’m so doomed if that’s the case.

Anyway, let’s get to what’s become a weekly tv roundup.

- Last Friday, I watched my first episode of Blue Bloods, since Aubrey Dollar was on. She didn’t have a real big part, but it was nice to see her on screen again. It makes me miss Women’s Murder Club all the more. As for the episode itself, I found it kind of a standard, boring cop show. Speaking of Blue Bloods, I just got next week’s issue of TV Guide in today’s mail, and it had a little feature on Donnie Wahlberg.
Photobucket Photobucket
As much as I’m glad to see Donnie having success with Blue Bloods, I really wish he’d return to Rizzoli & Isles as Jane’s boss/love interest Joey Grant. Then they could get rid of Dickhead Dean. And that would reunite him with Aubrey Dollar’s WMC co-star, Angie Harmon. See, it’s all about that one degree of separation.

- It’s strange to say, but after last week’s wonderful 200th episode of NCIS, I was kind of disappointed with this week’s show. Maybe it has to do with the obvious eye-rolling ‘superheroes’, or maybe it has to do with Tony’s ex-fiancee acting more like she should have been Gibbs’ ex instead. Either way, I was kind of disappointed. That doesn’t happen very often with this show. TV Guide had a little bit with Pauley Perrette doing the voice of Lois Lane.
Photobucket

- Tuesday also brought us a new episode of Body of Proof. This one was fun because it had Robert Picardo as a main guest star. It was great to see Bob & Dana back together again. All that was missing was KC from KC. (you know who I mean) Yes, it was also a Star Trek reunion with Jeri Ryan & Bob P, but I was never a Trekkie, so that didn’t mean anything to me. Now we just need Bob P on Sanctuary (are they EVER going to give us news of a renewal?) and Rizzoli & Isles and then the Picardo quadrangle reunion would be complete. (Dana = China Beach & BoP; Jeri = Star Trek & BoP; Amanda Tapping = SG1/Atlantis & Sanctuary; Angie Harmon = WMC & R&I)

- Speaking of KC from KC, last night’s CSI brought the introduction of Elisabeth Shue as blood expert Julie Finlay, and the first episode without sight nor mention of Catherine Willows. That was quite depressing. While I do like the spunk & energy of the new character, I really hope they don’t continue the flirty backstory with her and DB – or do we make that Dieberkorn now? I much rather prefer Moonbeam Russell.

There was also some nice Sara moments on last night’s show, including some lovely Sara/Greg screen time. I always love seeing those two together. And I can't forget to mention the appearance of Mary Page Keller. My mom used to watch Another World back in the day, and I remember her from that.

As for the episode itself, too much of my least-favorite character made it just a so-so episode. It was really nice to see Lou Vartann getting some decent screen time, however, that also made me miss Jim Brass even more. Where’s the happy medium? Or just bring me back Sofia and I won’t be complaining about any of that.

- I missed SVU last night. From the previews, it was to be a good Kelli Giddish episode. I really need to get caught up with that episode this weekend. TV Guide had a mini interview with HCJ about his guest appearances on the show.
Photobucket

- There were also a few previews & posters for some new shows, including Awake (the preview I saw a while ago has me only so-so on this show) and GCB. As much as I love Annie Potts, I’m hesitant with this show.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

- speaking of promos/previews, this ad for House Hunters had me chuckling. By looking at this promo, you’d never know the show wasn’t a full-blown comedy
Photobucket

- I got the new issue of Ladies Home Journal today and was pleased to see a photoshoot with Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls

- on a final note, I see that Morena Baccarin is to be on The Mentalist again tonight. At least that means there’s something to watch

A Cracky Wacky Wednesday This n That

It’s funny how things seem much brighter when the annoyingly out of line body gets put back to the way it should be. Yep, I just got everything (neck, shoulders & back) cracked back to where it’s supposed to be after a trip to the chiropractor. I kind of feel like Humpty Dumpty. Now if someone could do something for my scrambled brain…

I’ll have to work on that.

* It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means. Yes, remember? Wednesday…CSI night. I know, it still sounds weird, that’s why I figured that I’d remind you again – or rather, remind myself. Even though it looks like a decent episode from the promo, I’m still going to be hesitant & cautious since it’s an episode written by Dustin Lee Abraham. His episodes usually included over-the-top Vegas baddies and some kind of hip-hop references that make me roll my eyes ("Poppin' Tags" and "Drops Out" ring a bell?). Tonight’s episode being set in a Vegas mob museum does sound promising. However, since CSI got rid of the best Vegas mob guy a few seasons ago (Sam Braun – and I’m STILL pissed at that) those old mob stories don’t mean as much anymore. The bright spot is that it SHOULD bring a decent story line for both Catherine & Greg.
Photobucket

* Wednesday also brings another round of SVU. I think I’ve seen more first-run episodes of this show since the addition of Kelli, than I had in all the previous years combined. Considering tonight is only episode four of the new season, I’d say that’s a step in the right direction.
Photobucket

* I only got to catch two of my shows last night. NCIS was a decent episode overall, minus all of the political undertones. I did love the fact that the guy was able to slip away from Ziva during her protection detail. That doesn’t happen very often. Oh, and as the outcome goes for that story, I saw that one coming from his first appearance on screen. As standard as the “A” story was, it was the somewhat small, but ever so heartening “B” story that was worth every second. Abby. Sweet, dear Abby. She comes in all excited about being a match as a liver donor, not even taking into consideration the overall consequences. But then she finds out there’s a second match, and it’s a guy whom she deduces is her brother – one who’s so far unknown to her. It was so sweet when she goes to his pet rescue shelter and sees him for the first time, but decides not to tell him who she is. The actor playing him was actually Pauley’s former boyfriend in real life. She got her followers on Twitter to rally for him to get the part. Don’tcha just love the power of Twitter? Hearing Abby calling her Aunt Gert, who has severe dementia & doesn’t even remember her, was heartbreaking, and a subject quite personal to me as well. But the most heartbreaking part is knowing that the picture of the woman in Abby’s locket is actually Pauley’s real-life mother, who died a few years ago. Finally after 8 seasons, we actually get to see some part of Abby’s background – other than her stalker ex. No, I won’t go on the tangent and tell you that’s how the great years of CSI used to be – when they had the small, but wonderful tidbits about the main characters’ lives – until they ruined things after season 6 when they decided to turn the show into a soap opera. Gotta love GSR for that, don’t ya?

* I also got to watch Body of Proof last night. Another show with political undertones as well. What’s up with that? I loved the dead body missing in the morgue & “coming back to life” story, however, didn’t CSI do that not too long ago? Just saying. I loved Megan needling Peter about the “love of his life” and it was fun to see his sisters all at the same time. Poor guy. It’s great that season 2 is fleshing out more back story for the other main characters. Tonight was Sam’s turn, hearing how her brother was killed right there in that neighborhood. And guess who that killer was? Couldn’t be the guy right there, could it? Nah, that’d be too easy, right? I guess that’s why I like the “light” dramas. You don’t have to think too hard, just a little deductive reasoning is needed.

* reading some SPOILERS for upcoming episodes of my shows has me chuckling, shaking my head, and saying “you go, girl” all at the same time. For Sanctuary, it’s the pic of Helen Magnus’ upcoming kiss, and it has the whole fandom in an uproar. It’s sad to see that bigotry & homophobia still run rampant in tv fandoms. It makes me even more upset when they think it’s just to boost ratings. I don’t see Amanda, Martin, or Damian selling out the strong, complex character of Helen Magnus – and definitely not as a ratings ploy. I think it totally fits in with the character of the 160 year old (oh wait, she’s 273 now with the trip back to 1898, right?) scientist/doctor who’s definitely not afraid of experimenting. After all, she was engaged to Jack-the-Ripper, hung out with a vampire genius, the Invisible Man, Jekyll & Hyde, has a father living in Hollow Earth, has a sasquatch for a butler, and houses many, many abnormals worldwide. Because of the upcoming “kiss”, it seems they’re now questioning her sanity. I guess some Sanctuary fans are just as stupidly narrow minded as some of the CSI fans are. Yes, there’s a reason I pulled away from total immersion into the CSI fandom. People don’t know how to argue/debate properly. It’s annoying.

* yesterday’s spoiler for CSI was a bit more eye-opening. Catherine & a “hot” FBI guy? (why does that make me think of Jane Rizzoli & Gabriel Dean?) I guess that means that Lou either hasn’t made up his mind or decided he’d had enough. She left the ball in his court the last time we saw. Yes, I like the prospect of a new guy in the picture, no matter how long or short it ends up being – mainly because it’s about time they did something with it. The Cath/Lou thing just totally fell off the radar. It’s the main reason I didn’t get very invested in the relationship to begin with – because I knew the writers would somehow SCREW IT UP. They always do. This is CSI, remember? The only thing that’s ever mattered is GSR – which is still seemingly going strong and thank GOD we don’t have to see/hear it very often. (So far. PLEASE don’t let me jinx it.) I still wish they would have kept cute bomb guy, Kip, around for a while to be with Catherine, but of course, they had to blow him up. Idiots.

* while on the subject of great CSI guest stars, I’m reminded that I haven’t really talked much about season 2 of Nikita yet. I haven’t been a totally faithful watcher so far this season, but do get to watch a bit while I’m multitasking at work, so I can keep up with the gist of the story lines. It’s great to see Melinda Clarke in the “driver’s seat” as Amanda has taken over things. What I don’t like about the show is that it seems everyone’s out of Division now and on their own, with their own agenda – even Birkhoff. It’s hard to remember who’s on what side and with whom , and then it changes in an instant. I guess it’s their way of keeping the viewers off guard, but it kind of just makes me dizzy. It gives me the urge to go back and watch my DVDs of La Femme Nikita and bring some order back. In that show, you always knew that Nikita was trying to keep the ‘humanity’ alive, Michael always had her back – but sometimes with a hidden agenda, Birkhoff was an easy pushover, and Walter was everyone’s sounding board.

* on a final random note – I don’t watch the show, but it was great to hear that Chaz Bono gets to continue for another week on Dancing With The Stars.

Wednesday This N That

While the Tuesday night tv schedule still sucks, ( why do they all have to be on at the same time? ) it’s great that there are at least a few shows to still keep my interest.

Let’s begin with a few of last night’s shows

1. As I mentioned on Monday, last night’s NCIS was great. I loved the homecoming theme. It was fun to hear that Jimmy was King (as he was the only boy in the class of 13) and that Abby had multiple dates for homecoming. It was also cute to see Tweets from Brian Dietzen (Jimmy) that he was crowned King in real life as well, only it was for Prom instead of homecoming. A Tweet from Pauley mentioned that the dress Abby’s wearing in the old photo with her three dates is her actual homecoming dress. It’s so great to hear those behind-the-scenes tidbits.

Speaking of behind-the-scenes: it was fun to see some of the NCIS cast on ET last night – especially Mark, who revealed his “cheat sheet” lines inside his jacket. It was cute how he was giving Nancy O’Dell his Gibbs’ stare and making her crack up repeatedly. Such a fun cast.

2. Body of Proof brought a bit of the fun ( and funny ) as well. I love the small Kate/Megan catfights – as well as the “make up” scenes. I think the Jeri/Dana scenes are the best. The thing I’m really loving about the new season is that the rest of the cast is getting more involved in the episodes. It’s not just the Megan or Megan/Kate show. It was funny to see that everyone seems to have a “significant other” except Megan…and maybe Sam. I love how Sam read Bud’s body language and drew her conclusion that he had a ‘special someone’. That reminded me of a few other character “couples” from other shows who worked like that – such as Cath/Gil from CSI and Sam/Jack from Stargate SG1.

3. Unforgettable was back for a second episode last night. This one was better than the pilot as we were finally getting into the heart of the show without having to go through all of the character introductions and backstories. The scenes with Carrie and her mother who has Alzheimer’s always just reach out & grab me. I love how the writers have incorporated that into the story. I wish more shows would bring the Alzheimer’s/Dementia theme in with a recurring character. As for the concept of the show, the "out of body" flashback scenes kind of annoy, yet intrigue me. I find myself looking more closely at the previous scenes that Carrie's been in to see if there's something I can detect that they will come and focus on later in a flashback scene.

4. Since Dancing With The Stars always runs a few minutes over (congrats to Chaz Bono on advancing another week, by the way), I was able to catch the opening of Parenthood last night and even catch a glimpse of Bonnie Bedelia. Yes, the karma was working in my favor last night, it seemed.

As for tonight –

5. it’s become hard to get the CSI switch to Wednesday’s stuck in my brain. Last week’s season 12 premiere was okay, considering we had to suffer an overload of Dead Body (DB) because of the character introduction. From the previews of tonight’s episode, it looks like it’s back to “normal” for character/crime scene stuff. It looks especially interesting seeing that Catherine might get a bit of action. I always love Action ! Cath.

6. The Kelli Giddish era of SVU continues tonight as well. I liked her introduction last week. I hope she & Mariska can get some meaningful scenes together soon. I’ve been watching a few more reruns of SVU lately. Mariska & Chris are just so darn good together. Mariska always blows me away. I just wish she’d be on a show that’s a bit lighter.

Wednesday This N That TV Madness

Before we get to the Wednesday TV madness, we need to recap a full Tuesday schedule.

1. Last night was the season 9 premiere of NCIS. Picking up from where we left off last season with Tony getting his ‘top secret’ orders, we find Tony in a bit of trouble as he’s apparently shot another NCIS agent, but can’t seem to remember it. Dr Cranston (the wonderful Wendy Makkena) is talking him through the rest of the episode as we seem to be flashing back to the story of what he can’t remember.

First of all, you’re probably aware that Tony is my least-favorite character on the show, so an episode that features him is always considered just “so-so”. This is no exception. That being said, it was a great performance by Michael Weatherly. However, can someone please bring me the standard NCIS “dead Marine of the week” story? That would have been preferable to this slower-than-slow flashback-style episode that didn't really feature much of the great cast. It was the season premiere, for goodness sake! Bring out the big guns!!

I did like the small Ziva/Tony moments. That always brings me a smile. I also liked the appearance from Matt Craven as Sec. of Navy Clayton Jarvis. I recently re-watched the movie, Indian Summer, and always love his performance in that one. Another great moment was Tony’s comment, “Who doesn’t like hot girls carrying guns?” LOL That’s the real Tony DiNozzo! I think watching “hot girls carrying guns” is my sole reason for most of the shows I’ve watched through the years.

Anyway, if they’re going to have a season premiere, bring me some action. Bring me lots of Gibbs, Ziva, McGee, Abby & Ducky. For this season premiere, I was totally not impressed.

2. Body of Proof returned for a second season last night. My first thought is that Body of Proof has learned from Rizzoli & Isles that humor in a drama can make a decent show into a much better show, since there are so many “serious” dramas these days. The humor brings a great change. It was great to see Rick Fox on the show as well.

I love the Kate/Megan tension, with Kate sleeping with Megan’s ex, Todd. It gives both Dana & Jeri something to sink their teeth into, instead of just rattling off technical medical terms. I also love that there seems to be more Sam & Bud, as well as Peter, Ethan & Curtis.

3. Unforgettable debuted as well. Poppy Montgomery, Dylan Walsh, and Kevin Rankin star in this cop show that brings a different twist. Poppy is Carrie Wells, a former cop who seems to have total memory recall. For some reason, that brings to mind Gibson on Birds of Prey. Anyway, Carrie hears a murder outside her apartment and gets brought into the investigation, which happens to be run by her former boyfriend, Al. Both had worked together back in Syracuse before it got too much for Carrie and she moved to NYC, where she’s taking care of her mother who has Alzheimer’s. That was a nice little backstory that they put in there. I have a soft spot for the shows that include dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, as it reminds me of my grandmother.

Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked again. Carrie replays her part of finding the victim in the alley through her mind and notices other details she had missed previously. It seems that no matter how long ago, or where it was, if she was there, she can call up the memory in finer detail. I like the fact that they don’t make it overly easy by having her recall stuff from anything she touches. It makes it a different time of a cop show. Maybe it’s one I can actually get into.

4. I love the fact that FX replays Sons of Anarchy late at night. It gives me a chance to actually watch. Sometimes this show really confuses me. What never confuses me is the great character that Katey Sagal has brought to us in Gemma. I love the scenes Gemma has with Wayne, especially when she gives him the finger! And I also love the Gemma/Tara scenes as well. I wasn’t too pleased at Clay roughing up Gemma a bit, though. I was hoping she’d be a bit tougher at that point. Despite all of the bikes, guns, drugs, etc, this show does have its humor as well. After a car/bike chase and the SAMCRO gang stops the car, Jax looks into the window & says, “license & registration please”. LOL

5. Body of Proof, Unforgettable, Sons of Anarchy & Parenthood on all at the same time really sucks. Parenthood seems to be odd one out this time around. It’ll be my show to catch up on for this week.

6. Now that the Tuesday recap is done, we turn to the highlight of the week. That would be the Season 12 premiere of CSI tonight, and the beginning of the DB “Dead Body” Russell era, and from what I hear, the return of feisty Catherine, now that she’s gone from “Supervisor Cath” back to “CSI Cath”. I’m trying to be optimistic for the new season (at least until Carol Mendelsohn starts with more blah-blah-blah and makes me wish that Marg’s exit will come sooner rather than later). Anyway, I’m intrigued by the addition of Elisabeth Harnois as Ecklie’s estranged daughter. My only goal for this season is to cherish the wonderful, but always infrequent, Cath/Sara scenes until Marg leaves in January. All I can say is that CSI really lost something that could have been great, by always keeping those two ladies apart and at odds as much as they have in the previous 11 seasons. Maybe that’s why I’m always bitching at the writers. They have just never seen the strength that a real Cath/Sara friendship could have brought to the show. They could have still gone with their precious Grissom/Sara story line even if the two ladies had any kind of a friendship.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. Rant. Rant. Rant. Don’t worry. My CSI ranting will be done in four months.

7. tonight also brings the beginning of the second season of Harry’s Law. I’m excited to see all of the changes in store. Specifically getting rid of Brittnay Snow’s character. She was highly annoying. I’m not sure if I’m going to like more of a focus on the cases & courtroom stuff, though. That’s usually a big turn off for me. But hey! It’s Kathy Bates. It’s Jean Smart & Mark Valley! Things are looking up!

8. Tonight also brings the series premiere of Revenge on ABC. I guess I’m going into watching this one with very low expectations. The only reason I’m giving the pilot a watch is because of Madeleine Stowe. It seems she might actually have a decent-sized role in this one. That would be good, since I don’t know any of the other cast. I’m hoping it will surprise me like The Secret Circle did.

9. to finish the Wednesday schedule, Up All Night with Christina Applegate continues tonight in its regular timeslot. I wasn’t impressed with the premiere, but pilot episodes usually aren’t that great, so I’m hoping that a second chance will bring it into the “watchable” category. I’m thinking it’s Will Arnett that’s the turnoff for me. I wasn’t a fan of his last comedy, Running Wilde, either, and it was because of him.

That's my line-up for Wednesday. Thursday will bring three interesting premieres that I can't wait to check out as well.
