KayLyne's Rules of Life

There are a few rules of life that I try to live by quite faithfully. Some are lines from tv shows or movies, and some are just well-known phrases turned on their ear.
1. First & foremost is the Catherine Willows Theory – always expect the worst. That way you’re never disappointed, and sometimes you’re nicely surprised. (this REALLY works – and saves me from lots of grief, especially when it comes to tv shows.)
2. Procrastination is my best friend, until the deadline arrives.
3. Ignorance is bliss, until you’re left in the dark.
4. It’s always good to know what you don’t know
5. there’s nothing to be gained by second-guessing yourself. You can’t remake the past, so look ahead or risk being left behind.
6. The future is predetermined by the character of those who shape it.
7. to resist the influence of others, knowledge of oneself is most important.
8. there’s going to come a time in your life when you think you’ve reached the end. That will be the beginning.
9. Always go with your first instincts. Everything after brings trouble.
10. Death’s easy, you don’t have to do anything. It’s life you have to face.
11. we’re meant to die. That’s what makes anything about us matter.
12. never underestimate the power of Murphy’s Law.
13. if you haven’t run it through your head 50 times before you say it, it’ll always come out wrong.
14. A watched pot doesn’t boil (especially if you haven’t turned on the burner), but once you turn your back, the pot will boil over (and you’ll need to clean the stove AGAIN!).
15. Every team I cheer for will lose. And if I try reverse psychology & hope for them to lose… they will.
