It wasn’t until 2001 where people finally took notice of the bad vibe that seemed to be associated with September 11th, because of the severe devastation of the events that took place in New York City, Washington, DC, and in the skies over Pennsylvania.
I had a chance to visit NYC exactly three months before 9/11/01
Last year, I visited rural Shanksville, PA, where they’re building the memorial for those who perished on United Airlines flight 93.
It was back in 1984 on the dreaded September 11th when singer/entertainer Barbara Mandrell was involved in a devastating car crash which took the life of the driver of the other car, while severely injuring Barbara as well as her two children, Matt & Jaime.
Can you tell I was a big fan?
It was also on September 11th that brought us the deaths of beloved actors:
In 1994, Jessica Tandy died of cancer at the age of 86.
In 2003, we lost the wonderful John Ritter at the age of 54.
Even as far back as 1921, the September 11th curse seemed to strike as silent film star Fatty Arbuckle was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of a starlet in an alleged sexual assault. And it’s thanks to the “fun facts” of Maura Isles on Rizzoli and Isles that I even know that!!
