You know the fall tv season is here when you open the new issue of People magazine and see that it’s filled with full-page (or two-page) promos for both new & returning shows.
There’s only one place to start
1. CSI – the extremely over-photoshopped promo for Season 12 of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Seriously, I thought the images were taken from the wax replicas of their characters. That has to be the most horribly photoshopped promo of the entire 12 seasons. And yes, after all these years Marg STILL isn’t front & center. Sexist much?
On the subject of CSI, it looks like Laurence Fishburne is looking much more comfortable than he ever did around the set of CSI
There are a lot of new shows that look interesting
2. Person of Interest - Unforgettable
From the previews, both of these look interesting. I’m just hoping they’ll have something intriguing that will set them apart from the regular procedural shows in order to keep my interest.
3. A Gifted Man
This one, I’m not quite sure on yet. Every time I see the name, my mind internally chants “There was a gifted man, who went a gifted mile. He found a gifted sixpence…” Okay, so it’s close to the nursery rhyme!
4. Charlie’s Angels – Revenge
I really wish that Dina Meyer had been cast as an Angel. However, it’s great to have her at least in the first couple episodes. That will ensure that I will be watching eagerly. As for Revenge, I’m still on the fence with this one, but it includes Madeleine Stowe, so I’ll at least give it a watching (or two)
5. Hart of Dixie
This show sounds interesting, but I’m not sure. It seems to give off a “Sweet Home Alabama” vibe, so I’m hoping that’s what we get.
6. Two shows I’m not really sure about yet – 2 Broke Girls & How to be a Gentleman.
I’m guessing these two will be the first to cross off my watching list, but I’ll at least give the pilots a shot.
7. Just for good measure, there’s The Good Wife
No, I don’t watch the show, but I know there are some TnT readers who do. My how the promotion for this show has changed since the beginning. Yikes!
8. Jane, Jane & more Jane! It’s great to see a full two pages of Jane being Jane!
9. Since there’s Jane, there’s gotta be Ellen, right?
10. Since we’re talking about great ladies, let’s add Helen Mirren to the mix!
11. A bunch of great ladies means that there’s gotta be a mention of a great looking guy, right? How about AC?
Strangely enough, I'm not seeing his new show on my local tv listings. Bummer!
12. not in the magazine, but I saw yesterday on Twitter the new promo for Season 2 of Body of Proof.
My question: Where are Kate, Peter, Bud & Sam? They could at least have been dead bodies or something, right?
13. I just heard last night that Laura Innes has been added to the mid-season show, Awake. Guess that’s another one that I’ll have to check out.
14. Just a little bit ago, I saw that David Keith will be making an appearance as Nikita's dad on Nikita.
As much as he's known for his great performance in Officer & A Gentleman, I think he was even greater with Mariel Hemingway in In Her Line Of Fire. Awesome movie. It's one to check out if you haven't already. Mariel kicks terrorist ass!
